Smart Home CES 2025 Highlights with Brava Home Smart Countertop Oven, hyve Security Smart Home Delivery Pod and Glomensio Firefly Home Number Lighting for Emergency Services
We focused on Smart Home for our 12th CES 2025 Highlights show.
Zac Selmon from Brava Home introduced a smart countertop oven that uses coordinated pulses of infrared light for pinpoint fast cooking. Putting a great deal of intelligence in the app in order to make it accessible for low vision and blind users has set the stage for further development.
Through the Brava app, caregivers and loved ones can be notified anytime the care recipient starts cooking. There is a camera inside the oven, so caregivers can see what’s going on and even, if necessary, turn the oven off remotely.
Melissa Kieling from hyve Security presented a smart delivery pod addressing $20 billion in package theft annually.
“At the end of the day, the video doorbell is just going to capture the show of your package being stolen. It’s not going to save your package. If someone’s trying to break into your hive, you’re going to get an instant notification. Your neighbors are going to get a notification that someone right now in the neighborhood is trying to break in and steal packages. This is going to activate communities in real time to protect them.”
Gauve Batta from Glomensio discussed their Firefly smart house number that flashes red and blue when 911 is called, aiding community response during emergencies. Alerts trusted neighbors and contacts to act as first responders during those crucial first 8–10 minutes before EMS arrives. Co-founder Drew Timler RN has a background in nursing and emergency services. “Waiting 9 minutes for help during an emergency is like watching a house catch fire… and hoping the flames don’t spread to the room you’re in. Glomensio was built so the people already nearby don’t have to stand outside — they can kick down the door”.
These products aim to enhance safety, convenience, and independence for aging individuals.
