How to Join Our Live Podcast Recordings

We currently record twice a week on the Clubhouse platform. This allows us to have a live audience and quality audio recordings.

To participate in our audience you just need to download the Clubhouse app and join our live shows.

We record News for the Ages on Tuesdays 3-4pm Pacific Time.

We record our Age Friendly Product Alliance Shows Thursdays 11-noon PT during Daylight Savings Time and 10-11am during standard time (Nov - Mar).

We read comments and questions into the podcast and our speakers respond to them. You can connect with kindred spirits. We do not tolerate spammy activities but we invite audience members to share their LinkedIn profiles links in the chat so that they can connect with each other.

Downloading Clubhouse App

To download the Clubhouse app, please use this link. It is a mobile app and you will need to be on your phone to use it.

There is no cost involved. Don't think of it as yet another social media platform you have to build a presence on. You are just here to participate in our "live rooms". (If you want to do more on Clubhouse, I have written an article all about the app.)

DO add a headshot to your profile though and your LinkedIn profile URL. You can also add your website if you wish. A couple lines about who you are. None of that will hyperlink so http:// is not necessary.

You can connect your Instagram account to your Clubhouse bio so that WILL hyperlink. You will see older members have hyperlinked X accounts but X no longer accepts new connections.

No need to set up voice recognition. That is a feature for the voice chats. Adding our events to your calendar in your time zone will cause a Clubhouse prompt to require access to your entire calendar. Completely understood if you say no to that. But RSVP'ing to our events is always appreciated.

Clubhouse will also request access to your contacts when you join. This lets you see which of your contacts is already on Clubhouse. They may not be currently active on Clubhouse. But even if you follow them all, Clubhouse does not show how many people you follow vs how many follow you. It only shows your number of friends (mutual follows). So no harm done and then Clubhouse will show you rooms where people you follow are active. This gives you some idea of where Paul (the founder) is trying to go with this. Joining the Rethinking Aging Club house / Community

When you use the link above to join, Clubhouse will automatically suggest you join our house. If you are already on Clubhouse you will find our house here:

How to Get Back to the Rethinking Aging Club house

For me the easiest way back is to click on my profile (your headshot in a circle or your initials if you haven’t added a head shot yet at the top right of the page of the Clubhouse app)
The red Rethinking Aging Club icon shows on bottom of your profile like David Conolly Jr.’s here. You can also find the search icon on the page you are on and enter "Rethinking Aging Club". Or you click this link to our house from your phone https://www.clubhouse.com/house/rethinking-aging-club

How to RSVP for a Rethinking Aging Club Show

February 12, 2025 - this interface changed. The House wall was redesigned.

This is a screenshot of the new interface.

To RSVP please hit the Remind Me with the bell and that will indicate your interest in that event. After you click "remind me" you will see the option to "add to calendar". Click on this and it will open the calendar add in your time zone.

Note the times listed are for me - so they are Hawaii time. Your Clubhouse app will show the times in your current time zone.

Join the Live Room Where We Are Recording the Podcast

At 5 minutes before the official start of the room, Linda will “open the room”. Go to the top of the Rethinking Aging Club house page where the upcoming house events are and you RSVP’d. You will now see a graphic with the word "speaking" like this. Click on that.

You will automatically join the audience. All participants can see who you are and you will be able to participate by adding comments or questions to the chat.

We invite all audience members to share their LinkedIn handles in the chat. There is a robust community on LinkedIn of people with professional and personal interest in our topics.

If You Are a Confirmed Presenter for a Thursday Age-Friendly Product Alliance Show

We have found that wearing AirPods or other headsets interferes with how your audio comes across. Please just use your phone in a quiet space.

When we see you arrive in the audience, we will invite you to come on stage. You will see a message that you have been invited on stage flash on your screen. Click accept and you will be brought on stage. Your mic will automatically be muted. We will ask each speaker to unmute and test their mic. The podcast will not include this part of the recording but it will be saved in the Clubhouse “replay”.

Please stay muted when you are not speaking. Speakers are always invited to interact with other speakers when we call for questions and comments. Usually one of our co-hosts will give your name and ask you to go ahead. We do want to have your name said to make it easy to follow during the podcast where the audience can’t “see” who is speaking. It should also be picked up in automatically generated transcripts.

We Are Often Asked for a Link to the Scheduled Clubhouse Room

Clubhouse allows anyone to create an “invite link” from a scheduled room from within the app. We can give this to you but it will do one of two things. If you are on your phone and already a Clubhouse user, it will take you to our house where you will see the event (and other upcoming events as well). If you are not already a Clubhouse user, it will offer to send you a notification reminder by text and suggest you join Clubhouse.

We suggest you RSVP on the event IN the Rethinking Aging Club House. It will then offer you to add to your calendar in your time zone.

About Rethinking Aging Club

Rethinking Aging Club has built a large community of professionals sharing the latest advancements in healthy longevity and raising awareness of the diverse needs of aging adults. We support the creation of products, services, education, and advocacy to improve the lives of those aged 50+ and their caregivers.

We produce two weekly shows, originally recorded live on the Clubhouse audio-only platform. We are bringing our informative shows to a wider audience through our Rethinking Aging Club podcasts.

  • Live on Clubhouse Thursdays: Rethinking Aging Club Podcast Recordings - sometimes referred to as Age-Friendly Product Alliance - Focuses on different topics each week about products and services for aging adults. Running since June 2021. Our podcasts reach back to November 2021 and are being published and put in chronological order along with new live shows being released as podcasts weekly.
  • Live on Clubhouse Tuesdays: News for the Ages - Discusses the latest news in aging, longevity, and caregiving. Running since May 2022. Our podcasts include archives back to August 2023 with new live shows being released as podcasts weekly.

Our Overall Mission: We aim to keep you informed and engaged with the latest developments in aging, longevity, and caregiving. Our knowledgeable speakers include experts in agetech, science, wellness, medicine, and more. Our Thursday Shows Back to November 2021

This is the list.

There was a LinkedIn link to each of the shows but LinkedIn has removed some links older than May 2022. When no longer available, we have replaced LinkedIn links with Clubhouse replay links and podcast links where available.

We are working on getting all of our older shows published. However, you can listen to them on the Clubhouse replays. Go to the three dots at the top of the Rethinking Aging Club house page and click on “listen to replays”. You can quickly scroll through chronologically to find the show you are looking for.

Note as we publish podcasts, we are trying to updated the LinkedIn show posts to replace a link to the Clubhouse replay that no longer works as well but if they are older, editing is no longer available. In this case, we are gradually adding a comment to that older post with a link to the podcast.

Aging affects us all … as professionals and in our own lives as we strive to be more prevention-oriented  …as well as in our roles as caregivers for those we love, supporting THEM as they age.
