International Women’s Day with Sky Bergman, Susie Singer Carter, Melissa Davey, Dr. Zhu Shen, Jennifer Lagemann, Bonnie Marcus, Clara Berta, Debbie Howard and Ilyse Veron

This episode celebrated International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month by sharing insights and experiences of women in the Rethinking Aging Club community. Key speakers included Sky Bergman, who discussed her film “Lives Well Lived,” which highlights positive aging stories and her discussion guide; Susie Singer Carter, who shared her film “My Mom and the Girl” about Alzheimer’s and her Love Conquers Alz podcast; Melissa Davey, who transitioned to filmmaking at 65 with her documentary “Beyond 60”; and Dr. Zhu Shen, who used film to heal family relationships.

Jennifer Lagemann provided tips for providers to improve their marketing and communication, including using language that resonates with their audience by leveraging online reviews and forums. Bonnie Marcus discussed her book “Not Done Yet” on women’s empowerment. Debbie Howard highlighted her caregiving advocacy. The session underscored the importance of storytelling, intergenerational connections, and overcoming ageism.
