Living Choices: Understanding Long Term Care with Erin Hart, Benjamin Surmi, Stacey Eisenberg, Peter Murphy Lewis
October is Long-term Care Residents Rights Month October. October 9, 2025 is Ageism Awareness Day.
Recorded on October 9, 2025, this episode is part of our Living Choices Series. Our goal was to explain through discussion with experts what “nursing homes” are as the term is used far too generically by many journalists. We touched on alternatives to nursing homes for long term care. Thanks to Erin Hart, we learned a lot about what Ohio is doing in this field, which is in many ways admirable. Benjamin Surmi was very helpful asking questions as co-host. We thank Peter Murphy Lewis for his People Worth Caring About Docu-Series. Stacey Eisenberg brought perspective as a Home Care Agency owner and someone deeply involved with care in Austin. This was a departure from our usual format introducing products and services to our community.
