Caregiver Friendly Products Lorenzo’s House, Memcara, Trelawear
In our second Caregiver-Friendly Products episode this November, we featured innovators bringing meaningful support to families navigating dementia care, including community and peer-based programs as well as music-driven therapeutic connection. We also highlighted stylish personal emergency response technologies designed to help older adults live independently with confidence and dignity. This episode continued our recognition of 2025 National Family Caregivers Month, National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month, and National Home Care and Hospice Month.
Patti LaFleur explained how Lorenzo’s House supports families facing younger-onset dementia with peer “Matches,” age-based Clubs for kids and young adults, grief groups, and a Youth Summit to heal, advocate, and educate.
Christina Tadin shared how Memcara offers web-based, therapist-guided music sessions using familiar songs, imagery, and prompts to spark presence, ease communication, reduce agitation, and create daily “anchor” moments for people with memory loss and caregivers.
Mara Perlmutter showcased Trelawear’s approach to fashion-forward emergency pendants linked to a monitoring app and call center, turning stigmatized PERS devices into stylish, affordable safety tools that help active older adults age at home confidently.
Recorded on November 20, 2025, this episode is part of our Caregiver Friendly Products Series. Speakers are listed in their order of appearance.
