Welcome to Rethinking Aging Club Podcast
Linda Sherman Founder Rethinking Aging Club
Debbie Howard and I co-organize all of the Rethinking Aging Club Age-Friendly Product Alliance shows.
Debbie and I met in Japan in the 80’s when we were both in the Market Research Field.
I went on to run several multinational subsidiaries in Japan, including Coors Brewing Company, Club Med and Barilla. I am now focused on healthy longevity in my own life where, at 75 years old, I am still playing singles and doubles tennis, practicing yoga and doing TRX, pilates and outrigger canoe paddling. By nature I am a connector and an organizer …. so I enjoy planning our shows and working with Debbie to recruit expert speakers to support the objectives of our shows. There is also synergy with my investment and participation in Marine Biology & Environmental Technologies Miracle of the Sea Natural Marine Extract rejuvenation and MBET Health wound care products.
Debbie Howard went on to create her own market research firm … Japan Market Resource Network which was very successful and still operates today as The Carter Group - JMRN. She continues to serve as Chairman of that company today, where her main work is helping clients develop novel agetech products for Japan and Asia. She is also a creative strategist for caregiver-friendly workplaces; and the author of 2 caregiver support books - one for individuals, and one for companies.
The Rethinking Aging Club has attracted a large community of like-minded professionals sharing the latest information on advances in healthy longevity while raising awareness for the wide range of needs among aging adults.
We support the creation of products, services, education, and advocacy that better the lives of people aged 50+, including older adults and their caregivers.
We produce two weekly shows that are recorded live on the Clubhouse audio-only platform. We like Clubhouse because the audio sound from their downloads are great and it allows us to provide a show with a LIVE audience asking questions and making comments which we can then download as a podcast. We promote our shows on LinkedIn where both Debbie and I have deep networks of professionals devoted to the topics discussed on our shows. We’d love for LinkedIn Audio to be a viable option for recording but it’s not yet.
We are publishing our Rethinking Aging Club archives back to Nov 2021 by category until we catch up; with CES Highlights first, then Caregiver Friendly Products and Fitness and Wellness.
It will take us about six months to get all of the approximately 100 remaining shows published by category in our podcast. However, you can listen to all of them on the Clubhouse replays.
On Tuesdays, we present and discuss the latest news across a wide range of topics relevant to the fields of aging, longevity, and caregiving in our show called News for the Ages, that show has been running since May 2022.
On Thursdays, we focus on products and services, with a different theme every week in our show called Age-Friendly Product Alliance, which has been running since June 2021.
We’re bringing you both of these highly informative shows through our Rethinking Aging Club podcasts as a way of sharing this valuable information with a wider audience -> people like you, who are interested in, or work in, the areas of aging, longevity, and caregiving.
Our Rethinking Aging Club Podcast themed shows feature speakers that are CEOs, Founders, Co-Founders, and Leaders of a wide variety of global agetech and analog products and services that provide solutions for the many areas of need in the longevity economy including topics like Marketing, Fitness, Caregiver Support, Social Isolation and Ending Well.
Our speakers are carefully selected to be topical and of interest to our audience – and to be providing different perspectives related to our show topic.
Our lively discussions, including comments and questions from our live audience, are always full of valuable content.
Our expert speakers frequently report that they enjoy the relaxed setting, learn from each other, and often make new professional connections.

Thanks, Linda. It's a pleasure to be here with you to introduce our themed shows from Rethinking Aging Club Podcast. It's so exciting to work on the latest products and services in the fast changing space of aging, longevity and caregiving.
Like Linda, I'm an active older adult who embraces life with great enthusiasm at 70. I'm just getting started. We're highly engaged in creating our theme shows as reflections of what's important in this field, because it affects us all as we age, not only as individuals, but also in terms of supporting our parents, our grandparents, our spouses, and partners, and even our friends. With all this in mind, we bring you products, innovations and perspectives on themes of relevance to the long list of needs related to aging well, these include prevention versus treatment options, fitness, nutrition, mindfulness, vision and hearing, brain health, sleep, and even FinTech for better financial security and management. We also talk about new living options, such as coliving cohousing, naturally occurring retirement communities, otherwise known as NORCs, architectural design changes and falls prevention and onward to Smart Home innovations and robotics. All of which can help older adults to live independently for longer and more safely. Naturally, we also talk about many of the other themes relevant to aging well, including digital skills, inclusion and training, long term health care, assisted living innovations, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy, prevention of social isolation and promotion of intergenerational engagement, and of course, caregiver support, and caregiver friendly workplaces. Last but not least, in the marketing arena for aging, longevity and caregiving. We talk about human centered design, user experience research, product onboarding, social media and languaging, streaming film, entertainment and entertainment, and even distribution channels.
We start off every year with our series of shows featuring exhibitors and pitch competitors from the largest tech show in the world CES, the annual Consumer Electronics Show produced by CTA, the Consumer Technology Association. Many of these companies are members of the AgeTech Collaborative from AARP, or they are Consumer Technology Association Foundation accessibility winners.
When we look at aging in countries all over the world, we're seeing how aging market dynamics are impacting the core of how our healthcare, medical and even intergenerational community ecosystems operate. There is no doubt that aging affects us all. As business professionals working in the industry and in our own lives we strive to be more prevention oriented in our own health care, as well as in our roles as caregivers. For those we love supporting them as they age. Linda and I are very happy you've joined us. Please visit us often to stay informed on products and solutions in the aging longevity and caregiving landscape and to gain new perspectives in this fast changing market.
We have a sister podcast that is published weekly the day after the live recording called News for the Ages by Rethinking Aging Club. Please follow both our podcasts on Apple, Spotify or whatever podcast host you enjoy.
Your support in following our two podcasts is so appreciated because it sends a signal to the platforms to push them further up in search. We want to gain more advocacy and investment supporting our aging population. This is a marketplace opportunity deserving amplification. We also want to reward the speakers who so kindly give their time to join us by giving them more exposure.
